Our Olive/Easter Eggers are a result of crossing French Marans, renowned for their rich brown eggs, with Cream Legbars, known for their beautiful blue eggs. This pairing results in a spectrum of beautiful egg colours, with 4th generation olive eggers producing a deep olive egg that's truly unique.

Olive/Easter Eggers are not just about egg colour though as these hybrids are known for their gentle, curious, and friendly nature, much like our Hy-Line Browns. They're also reliable layers, producing approximately 5 eggs a week on a top-notch diet. Their lifespan ranges from 5 to 9 years and the variety in both egg and feather colour makes them a fascinating addition to any backyard flock.

Sustainability

Circular economy principles are at the heart of the business, with a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, and environmentally-friendly practices. Working on new ways to produce high-quality products using hempcrete, recycled wood and 3D Printing with metal and plant-based plastics are just some of the materials and technology that the business has been using. Talking Hens is constantly searching for new, more sustainable practices, using locally made, high-quality, and recyclable materials wherever possible.
